Our Stories
Bringing new lives into this world and into our lives is always special. Bringing a new pet home is a very significant memorable choice. Yes exactly, it’s a choice where we have these little vision boards in our heads of how we would look forward to take care of our little fur babies.
The Pooch Collective aims to help you in this journey of complete responsible holistic care for your tiny almost humans. We are here to pamper you both and help create unique furtatstic moments. Our pets are the most selfless versions of us and we with our products love to create that forever connect.
There are quite a few fur babies out on the streets that need our all round support and tender love and care. The ones that get left out don’t get a chance as often as we make that choice when we chose to adopt or shop.
The Pooch Collective from its inception has been constantly fulfilling its mission of feeding and nurturing animals in need, especially those out on the streets. As intimate as creating memories with your little ones, we are as deeply involved with contributing for these voiceless furry friends. It is equally important in our mission for constant upliftment of these animals through sales of our products.
This transference of love and warmth has been possible with your purchases and contributions. Let’s keep the love going and gratitude flowing!
Here are some activities that we have been consciously involved in furthering our cause.
Corona Times – Feeding duties- Lockdown Necessities #Covid19Diaries
Nobody is alone, everybody has found their comfort somewhere. In these difficult times our furry friends have been running here and there. Searching for food , trying to stay alive, we need to step up to help them thrive. TPC has been feeding these babies for more than six months now every single day. Pedigree India has been a generous constant contributor. We urge you all to do your bit and help save lives. Buy a bandana (portion of proceeds go for donation), lets all be wise!
We have met and fed animals of all kinds, some really special friends we have made. Looking at these horses, reminds us, no matter what, don’t lose grace. Our mission grows stronger everyday, to continue spreading smiles and providing all the care, for these furbabies : eat love and pray.
No family is being left out, its adorable watching these kitties with their wet snouts. We have been keeping a keen eye on this paw some family of four on our daily rounds. Getting love from a cat is like no other, give them some space, they will eventually come near. In times of social distancing all love is dear.
A few days or a week is not enough; their growing dependency is quite visible for us. TPC has undertaken the responsibility to feed about 25-30 dogs and other stray animals daily for at least half a year now. The special bond we have formed with them makes us want to be there for them every single day. Caring for them and receiving that kind of love in return, we’d not have it any other way! Please keep supporting us with your contributions so that our mission keeps going steady.
Ashari – Our dedicated partner
A new year and new beginnings, we started the Pooch Collective in Jan 2020. We feel immensely grateful for being able to donate to Ashari right in the beginning. Our Bandana sales gave us major headway to pamper our furry friends and spend the day. Ralphu and TPC decided to feed hungry babies. Donating 72/76 boxes of puppy and adult dog pedigree we managed to take care of so many tummies. Bordering on the lines of Ashari, which is the Kolkata wing of PFA (People for Animals) started by Smt. Maneka Sanjay Gandhi we believe strength resides in the actions of our initiative. We feel extremely blessed to have been able to give Rs 8500 as our very first donation.
Daily Essentials and Nutrition
The lockdown has moved us to focus on the very essentials, nothing fancy our approach needs to practical and minimal. This month of April we have been cooking our very basics and we are extending this to our hungry strays as well. Carbs are the building blocks of life and energy. We need it and so do our furry friends. Rice the most simplistic and easiest to mix with other ingredients is a daily necessity. We are proud to announce our donation of 30 kgs of rice to Ashari. Trying to do our
little bit to keep our fur babies well fed and healthy.
TPCxPedigree
A month into feeding the voiceless daily, other people who believe in our cause have reached out to us. In this beautiful month of May, the very generous Pedigree India also collaborated with TPC. Variety is the spice of life and a huge shoutout to Pedigree India for sending 11 massive cartons of wet and dry food with almost 700 adult food packets, 1700 puppy food packets and numerous 1-2 kg packets of Whiskas. We have been able to donate 8 cartons of food, which include approx. 1600 packets of wet dog food (adult and puppy) and dry and wet cat food including approx. (16 packets of 1.1 kg) to Ashari as well. They have made a wonderful combo of mixing the dry and wet food with rice to provide a wholesome meal to our rockstars. We loved getting major tail wags from 350
dogs and 60 cats. Major #pawsitivity vibes, major #furtstastic vibes, major meow and woof vibes, major wagging tails and feline kneading vibes!
More than just Feeding!
Middle of the lockdown, time to reflect and take stock of our lives and off course for our little cuties as well. We at TPC in this month of June have helped in restocking medical supplies including deworming meds and daily meds. All round care around the clock is crucial in uplifting their moods also. No pampering is less for these furry babies especially with their new feeding bowls as well.
TPCxPedigreexTreatTime
Lovely people at Pedigree India have had us in for a treat this month of September by collaborating with us again for Jumbone Treats for dogs. TPC decided to add some extra yummy food to their daily feeding rituals by treating
the doggos on the streets and in shelters ( Ashari and Jiva) . It has been most fulfilling to play with them, as they can’t contain their excitement! Woof woof. Treat for their tummies and a treat for our eyes. Immense Gratitude for Pedigree India in helping us in our mission with these 20 cartons of Jumbone, in uplifting and feeding the strays.
Rescues
Lucky
Lucky along with seven others has been a regular on our feeding rounds. A major wound on his forehead called for immediate attention. He went missing probably in a lot of pain for two days after and luckily the third day we found him, hence his name. Ashari came to our rescue and helped pick up Lucky. Thankfully the maggot infection being detected in time after treatment was given 2-3 weeks to heal. TPC covered the treatment expense and constantly checked up on him physically and virtually. Ashari was quite involved in sharing the videos and photos of his wound healing considering the lockdown situation in May. Three weeks of medication and love has brought back his happy self to his crew.
Pablo
Pablo, a part of Lucky’s crew was found wounded on one of our feeding round days. Most likely from a dog fight, Ashari came to our rescue. Following the vet’s suggestion Pablo was given a tablet and some antiseptic powder for healing. Team TPC got all the meds and rolled it up in sweets, which Pablo could easily eat. The powder was also applied daily on the wound during rounds. A week in we saw changes and after two weeks there was no more pain. We are glad for all the help to help Pablo in time!
